  • The Dixon Public Library Teen Advisory Board will meet this week, on Thursday, December 10 at 4 p.m. New winter and spring programs will be discussed.  Ideas include a “Teen Game Day”, more art programs and discussion of LAN parties for teens at the library.  Community service time can be earned, too. There’ll be plenty of snack food. Bring a friend and your ideas to the Dixon Public Library on Thursday, December 10 at 4 p.m. Come for the free food, stay for the good company. Become a part of the solution at the Dixon Public Library!                   12-10

 

  • Many of you have heard about the unfortunate passing of Mr. Larry Heynan this past week. A Memory Book is being compiled with notes and cards from those who knew Mr. Heynan and the Heynan Family. Feel free to stop by the Attendance Office this week to share any special memories you have with the family. Cards are provided.                12-11

 

  • Attention Seniors!  Please let your parents know that their parent massages for the yearbook are due on December 11th.  If you have lost your Yearbook Parent Message Ad order form, they are available in room H111.   12-09

 

  • Have you already bought your yearbook?  If you haven’t, buy one this month for the price of $75 before the price goes up in January.  Yearbooks are currently being sold in the Student Store at lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Checks and Cash are only accepted for payment.    12-09

 

  • Are you planning on buying a nameplate for your yearbook?  This month will be the last month nameplates are available for purchase for your yearbook.  Nameplates are an additional $5.   12-09

 

  • CSF Members:  Make sure you have paid your dues and turned in your service hours.  The Pizza party is on Monday at lunch, and you won’t get in if you still owe money or hours.  At this point, the dues are $18.  Bring them to Mr. Reed or Mrs. Galloway.        12-11

 

  • International Club meeting at lunch on Wednesday, December 9th in room C-207!  Bring an international cookie to share!  We are still taking money for t-shirts too! See you there!     12-09

 

  • Please remember to attend Sat. School (Dec. 12th) if you have been assigned to attend.  Students who do not attend will be suspended during finals week.  12-11

 

  • Just in time for holiday gift giving: A basket raffle. The DHS band students have a variety of gift baskets that will be displayed in the front office over the next week. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The winner of each basket will be announced at the DHS Winter Band Concert on December 14th.  The winner does not need to be present to win.  Please help support the DHS Band by purchasing basket raffle tickets and coming to the concert. See Mrs. Holtmeyer for tickets.     12-11

 

  • The Asian American Association has their December meeting today at lunch in room C101 (Mr. Inouye’s room).  Come one, come all!  And be sure to come with an appetite.   12-09

 

  • The next Vegetarian Club meeting will be next week, Tuesday the 15th, during lunch in D104.  We will have pizza.  We will be working on the project for the SPCA that we discussed at our last meeting.  Remember to bring your donations, if you can.  Bring blankets and/or towels to donate to the Ag Academy for the SPCA, and try to bring at least one item from the SPCA “wish list” that was given out at the last meeting.  If you don’t remember what the items are or if you weren’t able to make it to the meeting last week, stop by D104 to find out more about the donations.  There will be no announcements next week, so don’t forget about the next Vegetarian Club meeting–Tuesday, December 15th, in D104 during lunch!    12-11

 

  • Do you need service hours?  Do you enjoy helping other students and tutoring?  There is a tutoring and homework assistance program Monday Wed and Friday at Bristol Apartments in Pulte homes across the street from DHS that is in need of student tutors.  If you are interested in helping out in this program one or more afternoons a week, or want more information about the program contact DHS grad Alfonso Aranda at 707 524-6036 or talk to Mrs. Galloway   12-11

 

  • Seniors- Congratulations Class of 2010! Order your cap and gown and class ring on Tuesday Dec.15th. A representative from Herff Jones will be on campus during lunch time in the counseling center. Extra order packets are available in the main office. This is your last chance to order on campus before late fees go into effect. An $80 down payment is required to place your order.
