- The Dixon Public Library Teen Advisory Board will meet this week, on Thursday, December 10 at 4 p.m. New winter and spring programs will be discussed. Ideas include a “Teen Game Day”, more art programs and discussion of LAN parties for teens at the library. Community service time can be earned, too. There’ll be plenty of snack food. Bring a friend and your ideas to the Dixon Public Library on Thursday, December 10 at 4 p.m. Come for the free food, stay for the good company. - Many of you have heard about the unfortunate passing of Mr. Larry Heynan this past week. A Memory Book is being compiled with notes and cards from those who knew Mr. Heynan and the Heynan Family. Feel free to stop by the Attendance Office this week to share any special memories you have with the family. Cards are provided. 12-11
- CSF Members: Make sure you have paid your dues and turned in your service hours. The Pizza party is on Monday at lunch, and you won’t get in if you still owe money or hours. At this point, the dues are $18. Bring them to Mr. Reed or Mrs. Galloway. 12-11
- Please remember to attend Sat. School (Dec. 12th) if you have been assigned to attend. Students who do not attend will be suspended during finals week. 12-11
- Just in time for holiday gift giving: A basket raffle. The DHS band students have a variety of gift baskets that will be displayed in the front office over the next week. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.
- The winner of each basket will be announced at the DHS Winter Band Concert on December 14th. The winner does not need to be present to win. Please help support the DHS Band by purchasing basket raffle tickets and coming to the concert. See Mrs. Holtmeyer for tickets. 12-11
- The next Vegetarian Club meeting will be next week, Tuesday the 15th, during lunch in D104. We will have pizza. We will be working on the project for the SPCA that we discussed at our last meeting. Remember to bring your donations, if you can. Bring blankets and/or towels to donate to the Ag Academy for the SPCA, and try to bring at least one item from the SPCA “wish list” that was given out at the last meeting. If you don’t remember what the items are or if you weren’t able to make it to the meeting last week, stop by D104 to find out more about the donations. There will be no announcements next week, so don’t forget about the next Vegetarian Club meeting–Tuesday, December 15th, in D104 during lunch! 12-11

There is a tutoring and homework assistance program Monday Wed and Friday at Bristol Apartments in Pulte homes across the street from DHS that is in need of student tutors. - Freedom-lovers, the Young Americans for Liberty will have its regular meeting today in room H106 at Lunch! We will get to hear a special presentation concerning our freedoms and their current state. We will span everything from speech rights to gun rights to our right to due process.
